Meet Our Pets

This week we have been bringing in pictures of our pets that we have, or pets that we would like.  Today we wrote about our pets.  Enjoy!

Mail Day!

Once a week, we have mail day in our classroom using our post office.  We wrote each other letters last week, and checked our mailboxes today.  We wrote our friends back.  Enjoy these samples!  FYI: We feature a few different kiddo's writing samples each day on this blog.  Ask your child if they have had a turn to be a featured writer yet!

Let's Go Fly A Kite! Brrrrrrrrrrr!

Although it doesn't feel much like spring today, we talked about signs of the season, and made our kites.  Enjoy these three samples.

Weekend Chatter

Today we wrote in our journals about what we did this crazy, snowy weekend.  Check out what three of us had to say.  We are practicing starting our sentences with capital letters, moving over (spaces between words), no mixing (no capital letters in the middle of words), using end marks, and rereading our sentences.

Our Book Buddies

Today we got together with our 3rd grade book buddies and read together.  We have been working hard reading our books in reading groups, so we shared those.  We LOVE to read!!!!  Ask us about the books we read!

What's In That Cocoon?

Over Spring Break my daughter, Estelle, found this cocoon.  We took it to the zoo and asked about it.  Check out what Cooksey's Crew thinks will emerge from it....
It is a luna moth, and I should tell you that we said "silly is good" for this writing project!!!
