Please arrive at Lindbergh High School at 1:45 tomorrow. Our AM kiddos are snirts (gray clothes), PM kiddos are snowflakes (white clothes). See you tomorrow for some snowy fun!!!
Dear Fabulous Kindergarten Parents,
If your kiddo misses the Wednesday library day to return books, they now will just wait until the following Wednesday to turn it in. Great to just keep it in backpacks if you want, but kids will only turn them in and get a new book on Wednesdays when we visit the library. Thanks for your support!

Check out this cool exhibit that kiddos get to learn from in gym class!
Food Power Preview...
Please be sure that your child is bringing back his/her library book on Wednesdays. Many times we are having less than 1/2 of our classes bringing back books. I want us to use every minute in 1/2 day kindergarten in the best way, and it's not the best use of your child's time if they are not checking out a new book while at the library. They LOVE to get books to take home and read.
Thanks for your support!!!
AM and PM
Starting today, all Concord students have the chance to get recognized for
showing character. If a student is recognized, he/she will have their picture
and their character deed displayed on the Character Wall, his/her name will be
mentioned on Flyervision, they will be announced at the monthly Character
Assembly, AND they will be able to wear a sports hat to all the Character
Assemblies (early dismissal days) throughout the year!!
PM kiddos will not attend the assemblies, but can wear hats on assemby days (early dismissal days).
Today we started planting our pumpkin seeds that came out of our jack-o-lantern. We are hanging them up in the window and will watch them grow. When they start to grow out of the bag, we'll send them home. You will want to replant it in a bigger container at that point.
Be on the lookout for some great journal scoop to let you know how they are growing!!
Please have kiddos wear red, white, and blue in honor of our Veteran's Day assembly tomorrow.
Only the AM class will attend, but both classes have made thank you cards.
Meet our new learning tool...
That's right, turn your head to the left and see that it's an iPad!!!
Our desktop computers will soon be replaced with these, as well!!
Woot! Woot!

Mrs. Williams came in and taught us some Spanish.
She is from Colombia, and showed us maps to see where she is from and where we live.
It was muy bien!!!!

Per Dr. Stryjewski ~
Teachers-We have some exciting things starting next week. We have
Adopt-a-Family kicking off and we are also gearing up for our service-learning
project, which will be to support Cystic Fibrosis research in support of a
Concord student, Luke Price, in 1st grade.
Next week, on the three days we will be here, we will be having a different
"a-thon" theme day to lead up to a kick-a-thon that is happening at Concord on
Saturday. The kick-a-thon is not a school-related event, but all proceeds are
going to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and it is in Luke's honor so we wanted
to help contribute. On each "a-thon" day, kids are encouraged to bring in $1
and participate.
Wednesday: Read-A-Thon
We are asking students to bring a favorite book and $1.
Thursday: PJ-A-Thon
We are asking students to bring $1 and wear PJs.
Friday: Block-A-Thon
We are asking students to bring $1 and during block, they will get to
choose if they want to attend art, music, or pe.
Two fliers are stapled together and should go home today. Students can
choose to collect donations for the kick-a-thon if they want as well.
Luke's parents and the foundation have a great website. There is a video
about the kick-a-thon that you are free to show your students as well. It can
be found at www.lukeshope.com
Thank you for talking this up with your students and encouraging them
throughout the week to participate.
