Two Great Reads and Our Shoulder Buddies...

We're off and running in Kindergarten!!! 

Today we read these two great books...

Ask your kiddo which one was his/her favorite!

We also met a special friend in our kindergarten lives.... our Shoulder Buddy!!  This is another kiddo in the class that we will read, play sight words and math games, and just learn with. For some of us, this might also be our first friend that we met here at school.  Ask your kiddo if they remember their buddy's name, and have them tell you about the game "Shoulder to Shoulder".

Let's show our Concord spirit tomorrow by wearing green/gold for Spirit Day!!

176 Days Smarter...Reflecting on Journals...

This is such a fun way for the kids to really SEE how much they have learned!!

Here are some of our reflections...
"I was a good writer at the beginning of kindergarten, too!", said  Brett
"I didn't use periods at the ends of my sentences at the beginning", said  Nola.
"I used to leave out words.  It didn't make sense!", said Riley.
"I forgot to mooooove over (leave spaces between words)", said Audrey T.
"I wrote so many time that my cover fell off", said Josh.
Many of these kiddos are on 2nd journals or are using loose paper now.  These are coming home today.  Happy Reading!!!!

Field Trip Reminder, Memory Books, and August Fun....

Hee-haw...tomorrow is our Grant's Farm field trip. 

 If you are joining us, we'll be boarding the bus at 8:50 and returning by 11:25.
We are going to try to fit all of our parent volunteers on the bus, so that hopefully we can all ride together.  If we don't have enough space on the bus, we recommend that parents carpool to share the cost of parking. They charge $12 per vehicle.

We have started our Kindergarten Memory Books.



Today "oldest and only" kids are bringing home this flyer.

 I'm planning on attending on August 1st, and would LOVE to see some of my peeps!!!
